iamnotagoodartist 2.0

For those who care, the new theme has been installed and the WordPress software has been updated to the most recent release. I’ve installed some plug-ins to help share posts and get notified if someone responds to your comments. Please let me know if something doesn’t work correctly. I hope it all does. The portfolio page will go back up after it’s been re-designed. Stay tuned.

I’m only a couple weeks away from being a college graduate. Things are crazy busy. I am working on my magnum opus, which I’ll talk about later. In the meantime, here is a picture of me being strong:

i am so strong

More later.

Updating! Huzzahs!!

I’ll be updating the site this weekend, changing the theme to something a little cleaner and more Web 2.0, whatever that means. If something weird happens when you visit or things don’t look right, don’t fret, the theme ought to be fully installed come Monday. More features will be added as I get the time.

I miss you already.

Chippendales

I made this for my mom, who is visiting this weekend. Hooray for moms!

Like the other ones, he’s made out of Sculpey, wire, and foil. Click him to make it bigger.

The Last Mullet

The sketch comedy group I’m in, Something Else, made a short film called “The Last Mullet.” We put it online last week. Watch it here at Vimeo.

“In a world where the mullet has been outlawed,
one man stands up for his rights to be Amurican.”

I make a cameo around two minutes in as a rad dude getting his hair cut, but my real job was “visual effects,” fixing things in post-production and making the title and stuff.

This is from a dolly shot where you could see the reflection of the camera on the truck, a big faux pas in our industry. I motion-tracked a still image of the truck’s side onto it, covering the reflection.

before and after

If you’ve got twenty free minutes and a good internet connection, go watch it. Everybody put a lot of work into it and it’s pretty sweet.

Robusteza Verde

If ever you can’t think of a worthy name for something, just use the interweb to find out how to say it in a different language.

First class all the way, captain.

More and More…

Monkey Bear

My friend’s birthday was the other day, so I made her this little guy. It started out as a weird, skinny teddy bear but ended up as a weird, deranged monkey thing.

He’s a little less than five inches tall and is made of Sculpey clay, aluminum foil, and wire.

His hands are the best part. Click to see it all bigger.

A Picture of Me If I Were a Robot

This would be my self-portrait if I were a yellow robot.

a self-portrait of robot me

Yes, of course, I would have a screen on my chest. Yes, no doubt, I would have a row of red Walkman buttons below it. Click the pic to make it big style.

Beer Flakes

Here’s a quick animation of a character I made for the last two seconds of a sketch.

Huzzah! Stars all around!
